SHOT Show Outdoor Recreational From The Floor

It’s easy for those of us in the military and law enforcement industries to view SHOT Show as an event for US. However, we have to remember what the acronym stands for and how the event started 30 years ago: Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade Show. Since a large part of our recreational activities (those of cops and soldiers) take place in that place we call “outdoor”, I felt we needed to have a larger focus on it this year in our reviews. Here’s an early take on the true SHOT atmosphere that reaches back to its roots: the great outdoors.

There are LOTS of manufacturers of various types of camoflage on hand. Camoflage clothing; camoflage blinds; camoflage stocks, tree stands, grills, trucks and more. I did NOT (this year so far) find the camoflage nighties. I'll keep looking.

As you would expect, guns, archery equipment, knives, lights and electronics are in abundance. The booths and displays are truly amazing and some quite unique. I walked into a log cabin today to find myself outside - only at SHOT Show.

I haven't had much opportunity to delve into specific outdoor items yet, but I will edit this page as circumstances and time permit through the week. There WILL be plenty of info. SHOT Show is HUGE. I finally got the layout of the floor and found all my "favorites" and it's only the second day!

Of course, day two kind of ended early due to the Super Bowl but there seemed to be plenty of people still on the show floor with the attitude of, "Football? Who needs football? We have all THIS!"
